(The Pagosa Springs Sun April 5, 1945) Walter Xerxes Yansei Zabriskie , 76 resident of Pagosa Junction for the past 46 years, passed away at his home there Saturday, Aug 11th, after a lingering illness. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock this Friday afternoon from the Methodist Church in Pagosa Springs with the Pagosa IOOF Lodge of which Mr. Zabriskie was a member, in charge of the services at the graveside in Hill Top Cemetery.
